Code of Conduct

CODE OF CONDUCT AND GENERAL RULES

STATEMENT OF POLICY

The Joliet Catholic Hockey Club, in order to provide for and ensure a safe and productive atmosphere for players, coaches, parents, and fans, establishes this Code of Conduct Policy. This Policy applies to all games, practices, tournaments, and school functions during the season.

It is the goal of the Club to encourage participation and enjoyment of the game of ice hockey, while also ensuring discipline, teaching teamwork, and instilling respect for rules and for others. As Joliet Catholic hockey players represent their school on and off the ice, the Club expects each player to uphold the highest standards and conduct themselves accordingly at all times.

The Hockey Board believes that the following Policy and guidelines will contribute to a safer and more enjoyable experience for all involved. Coaches will advise each player of their personal responsibilities, expectations, and the consequences for violations.

Players are to be familiar with the Joliet Catholic Athletic Training Code. In addition, the Board reserves the right to apply additional sanctions as deemed appropriate.

The Club emphasizes that school comes before hockey. If a player’s studies suffer due to their focus on hockey, their involvement with the team will be reduced. Given the strong academic standards at Joliet Catholic, players are expected to manage their time responsibly so they can balance schoolwork, practices, and games.

If this policy is breached during the season, coaches reserve the right to discipline players for violations. Consequences may include: verbal reprimands, discussions with parents, benching, or temporary/permanent removal from the team. While we hope these steps will not be necessary, we believe that responsible players are vital to team growth and success. Coaches will remain available throughout the season to discuss individual concerns.

Parents and players should review these guidelines together. If you have any questions, please contact your Coach or a Board member.
